OVERVIEW
Implantology has evolved into predictable therapy. In the era of modern
implantology, the goal has become preservation and aesthetics.
The implant surgeon is relied upon for preserving and even improving
the patient’s aesthetic outcome using implant therapy. In
taking on difficult aesthetic challenges, all of the dentist’s
armamentarium must be perfected. These include, but not limited
to, soft tissue management, ridge preservation and grafting, implant
placement, a traumatic techniques, and provisionalization. This
is all in an effort to create an outstanding, predictable result.
This presentation will outline techniques for various aesthetic situations
with focus in the most important location- the aesthetic zone. In many
examples, multiple surgical and restorative techniques will be explored
that can be utilized to augment the aesthetic outcome. An emphasis
will
be placed on practical guidelines to enhance predictability of immediate
implant placement and provisionalization; followed by a hands-on use
of implant components
and materials for surgery and provisionalization.
