OVERVIEW
This course is designed for Oral MaxilloFacial Surgeons and
Periodontist placing implants. The ISM procedure is a manual internal sinus augmentation
procedure for implant therapy in the posterior maxilla. This procedure
uses the osteotomy site in order to access the maxillary sinus floor
similar to the Osteotome technique; however, the membrane is then manually
lifted using specially made instruments to give a more predictable
and tactile method of sinus augmentation. The ISM technique has been
used for 8 years and a similar success rate has been achieved similar
to other sinus augmentation techniques.
Attendees will be instructed on the advantages of using the ISM technique
over other techniques currently available. He will also address common
complications and treatment of sinus lift and bone augmentation surgery.
Attendees will learn how to perform the ISM procedure through a standard
osteotomy prior to the placement of implants on a model as well as
utilize specially made instrumentation to perform the procedure as
well as troubleshoot and repair perforations in any situation. The
Neoss implant system will be demonstrated throughout these procedures.
