OVERVIEW
The purpose of this course is to discuss current ideas on the most
important 3mm in dentistry, the attachment apparatus. We will discuss
biologic width as it pertains to the restorative dentist with emphasis
on predictable crown margin placement.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the this course the participant will be able
to:
• Describe 3 categories of biologic width
• Make treatment decisions based upon the category of biologic
width
PRESENTER
J. WILLIAM ROBBINS, D.D.S., M.A., obtained his dental degree
from the University of Tennessee Dental School in l973. He completed
a rotating internship at the Veterans Administration Hospital in
Leavenworth, Kansas and a 2-year General Practice Residency at the
V.A. Hospital in San Diego, California.
He is a member of several organizations including the American
College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the
American Dental Association, the American Academy of Restorative
Dentistry, the Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the Academy
of General Dentistry, and the Academy of Operative Dentistry. Dr.
Robbins maintains a full-time private practice and is Clinical Professor
in the Department of General Dentistry at The University of Texas
Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dental School.
