OVERVIEW for Aesthetic Bracket Systems
The competition for patients looking for orthodontic aesthetic treatment continues to increase and new technologies have emerged. We are confronted to be familiar with these new options in order to be able to fulfill market demands
• An increasing interest for non-traditional aesthetic orthodontics in both adults & teenagers; to improve facial aesthetics & quality of life
• 1 in 5 people in orthodontic care is an adult, up 60% from 10 years ago

OBJECTIVES for Aesthetic Bracket Systems
• List the different contemporary orthodontic esthetic treatment options with an emphasis in using self-ligating aesthetic bracket systems
• Introduce the Lingual Minor Tooth Movement, presenting clinical indications, case selection and clinical cases
• Explain the market demands for esthetic treatment options and need of marketing in Orthodontics

OVERVIEW for Early Orthodontics
The “Gold Standard” for initiating orthodontic treatment is known to be during the adolescent growth spurt, and or the late mixed to early permanent dentition, this timing has shown to be the most effective and efficient. Why deviate from this standard and initiate treatment earlier?

OBJECTIVES for Early Orthodontics
At the completion of this course, participants should understand:
• What orthodontic problems are effectively and efficiently managed early
• The American Association of Orthodontics guidelines for initial orthodontic evaluation
• Review the literature and the different indications for early orthodontic treatment presenting different
clinical cases like: early space loss, sucking habits, crowding, anterior and posterior crossbites, Class II, Class III, ankylosed molars, impactions, supernumerary teeth, and orofacial trauma.
• The role of treatment timing based on skeletal maturation for Dentofacial Orthopedic treatment
• 3D CBCT imaging technology as a tool for diagnosis, treatment planning and patient education for the cases presented

Carlos Nurko D.D.S., M.S., obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in 1992. He completed a pediatric dentistry residency, and earned a Master of Science degree in Dentistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1996. He was faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio from 1996-2001, and then received his certificate in orthodontics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004.
